Opens a Second Location in Indianapolis
Believe Midwifery Services, LLC, owned by Penny Lane DNP, CNM, IBCLC opened a second office in downtown Indianapolis this past October. This second location extends primary healthcare to women throughout their life-cycle, with a specialty in homebirth and lactation. While Dr. Lane is currently the solo practitioner, the practice is excited to welcome Mrs. Pam Rossio MSN, CNM, IBCLC as co-owner this fall.
The practice was founded with the vision of increasing the standards of homebirth and to work towards creating community recognition of homebirth attendants as credible, intelligent and professional clinicians within our Central Indiana community. This vision is complex in that it requires not only respectful and compassionate care to each individual family, but a high level of clinical competency while also establishing and nurturing professional relationships throughout the medical, social, and political community.
Currently, the practice provides primary care three days each week and attends six to twelve births each month throughout Central Indiana. The Indianapolis center is also home to the Red Raspberry Boutique, which grew simply from Dr. Lane's desire to offer her midwifery clientele products that supported their health and wellness, and contributed to natural living in an environmentally conscientious way. The boutique is open Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm and has an active website presence.
The clinical practice and boutique work collaboratively to extend a plethora of educational classes including a sixteen hour childbirth education series, herbal and essential oil classes, balancing breast to bottle, sexuality classes, and training courses for professionals, including neonatal resuscitation, essential oils for childbirth, and midwifery assistant training courses. Multiple support groups are also available each month to support the needs of their clientele and those within the community. Their calendar of events can be found on their practice website.
